LipanjePuntin artecontemporanea is pleased to present SPQR (Sex, Philosophy, Quirks, Religion) a personal Giacon Massimo (Padova, 1961).
Combining its roots in a radical comic creative talent for over twenty years, Giacon will remain an unclassifiable writer, a talented visionary who invented amazing worlds and characters ranging from drawings, paintings, illustration, advertising рма digital artwork, installation projects, video games, design objects (Alessi, Memphis, Swatch, Artemis, Yoox?).
The exhibition, curated by Gianluca Marziani , traveling back to track characters, views and radical history, a retrospective in progress with some of the most significant works of recent years, such as, Personal Jesus with the gradual disintegration of the body of Christ or a few pieces of Sexorcismo and Philosophers in the Pop Planet, where the great philosophical personalities find themselves in a world of science fiction, splatter breakers, b-movie references from American and continuous stylistic inventions. And then more players, a kind of physical modeling of our inner world of hidden desires, of the excesses that everyone brings in a long journey into fetishes, the links between disease and desire, sex and culture of adult play in transgression as a form of spiritual growth.
Giacon's work adheres to the phenomenon of "Pop Surrealism", layering styles and visual suggestions, hiding inside the messages and language games. His images are a provocation of the completed form information and funds, a push iperpop where the normal swells in his psychotic delusions.
